Helena Anrather is pleased to share the details for our forthcoming solo presentation of Jennifer Carvalho’s new paintings for Frieze London. Jennifer’s work plays with references from antiquity to the Renaissance as a way of connecting the weight of history with the contemporary, filtering a trove of murky reliquiae through a cinematic lens. For this body of work she has been investigating Renaissance ideas of architecture and exalted space in painting, and the lost, strange language of hand gestures in narrative painting.
